Project Settings :
Enable VIRTUAL TEXTURE SUPPORT is one of the first things you should do when using one of my assets. This ensures that terrain colors and textures display correctly, and allows for proper blending of grass, rocks, and other elements that rely on RVT. You can disable enable VIRTUAL TEXTURE ON TEXTURE IMPORT if you don't want to import the textures as virtual textures.
Generate Mesh Distance Field :
Also enable GENERATE MESH DISTANCE FIELD If you want, shorelines, and foam for the water.
Shadow Map Method :
Switching the shadow map method to Virtual Shadow Maps provides better shadow casting for the assets, whereas the regular Shadow Maps tend to produce blurry shadows.
For a quick instructions go check my video. Otherwise following theses guides :
In your Content Folder let’s create two Runtime Virtual Texture Volume, one for Color and second for Height. Create a new "RVT" folder inside your Content folder to avoid having textures and files scattered all over the place. Always keep your folders well organized! 😊
Select the volumes you created in step 2 — you'll see a Virtual Texture slot. Assign the Runtime Virtual Texture assets you created earlier to their respective slots (Color to Color, Height to Height).
